The Role

We are looking for a strong communicator who is motivated to deliver services as a 1st/2nd Line IT Support Administrator. Joining our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for a candidate with some IT support experience, who wants to grow their skills in a start-up tech environment, while helping clients solve day-to-day IT challenges.

You will need to be ready to react, plan and move at pace in everything that you do – communication is always key, building relationships and following our stringent processes. Maintaining our high standards of delivery are essential for this role and our brand that has built a strong reputation for quality customer service and, of course, our knowledge and advice.

You will join a team of senior IT people who have deep experience in technology across multiple sectors – we're small, nimble and need to deliver a range of services – but we feel that you will learn from some of the best people working in an IT MSP with our vast experience.

This role offers valuable exposure and meaningful experience for a candidate who approaches learning with an open mind and is eager to grow with the team. You won't just work from home with our trust, we will get you involved with our client site visits too

You will provide hands-on support across Microsoft environments, device management and IT projects, gaining valuable experience and exposure to a range of technologies and consulting projects.

Duties

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to end users, both onsite and remotely.
  • Onboarding and offboarding of users in multiple tenants/environments.
  • Accurately capture the details relating to any issues.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues.
  • Configure, deploy and maintain laptops, desktops and other corporate devices.
  • Support Microsoft 365 tools including Exchange, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Assist with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Group Policy administration.
  • Help manage devices using Intune and SCCM.
  • Log and manage incidents and service requests through the IT Service Management platform.
  • Contribute to IT projects, migrations and upgrades as required.
  • Maintain accurate IT documentation and asset records.
  • Follow our procedures, protect our customers, manage challenging IT issues
  • Deliver excellent customer service with a professional, proactive approach.

Experience

Essential:

  • Some experience in a 1st or 2nd line IT support role (MSP experience is a bonus).
  • Basic understanding of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi troubleshooting).
  • Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication skills – Patient and able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
  • Organised, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Being ready to listen and learn and follow our values and vision in making "it" better.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and Windows Server
  • Experience with Google Workspace or Chromebooks.
  • Familiarity with ITIL best practices or RMM tools (e.g., N-Able).
  • Exposure to firewall or VPN configuration.
  • Based in the East Midlands and surrounding areas.
