Sylvagen is a fast growing and innovative company operating in the recycling and renewable fuel sectors across the UK and Europe. We process and trade a range of materials using a variety of logistical solutions to end users including power stations and manufacturing facilities.

About the role

You will require to manage the supply chain and stock build of Refuse Derived Fuels ready for export from Scotland into Power Stations across Europe,

There will be travelling involved, visiting recycling yards to assist the procurement of new suppliers, and Ports to check for quality and dealing with any issues should they arise.

You may be required to operate third machinery.

Typical duties (but not limited to):

  • Quality control
  • Repairing broken bales
  • Visiting suppliers to carry our site audits and find new business opportunities.
  • Preparing samples for analysis.
  • Visiting end uses both in the UK and abroad.
  • Following company procedures
  • Promote and develop the company's relationship with partners and third parties.
  • Communicating information with the office
  • Using company IT systems to log information.
  • Looking for opportunities to develop and promote the company.
  • Operating third-party equipment if required.

What we are looking for

The ideal applicant will have had some previous operational experience within a recycling yard using a plant and machinery, and feel they want to develop there career further by taking on the responsibility of a more varied job role and based in the Central Belt of Scotland.

You must be able to carry our manual work, and when required present yourself to a wide range of audiences.

The job is a very much a hands-on type of role, so if you are looking for a typical shirt and tie travelling sales rep position, this isn't for you.

It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence and be prepared to regularly travel around Scotland and the North of England.

The Package

Typical Working hours and schedule: Monday to Friday 7.00am to 5.00pm and occasional Saturday (Some flexibility will be required due to nature of the role)
