Salary
– The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £7.55 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
AFTER completing their first year
Apprentices will be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are 19 or over. The minimum wage rates are £10.00 per hour for 18-20 year olds. £12.21 an hour for 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that is part of their apprenticeship.

About The Role
As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will play a vital role in supporting children with additional needs within Key Stage Two. This hands-on role will involve delivering targeted interventions designed to boost pupil progress and confidence. The position includes time allocated to attend training sessions, enabling you to work towards a recognised teaching assistant qualification while gaining valuable practical experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Year 5 pupils with additional needs in the classroom and during intervention sessions
  • Deliver focused learning interventions to help children progress in key areas
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Attend training sessions as part of your apprenticeship to achieve the teaching assistant qualification
  • Contribute positively to the school's ethos and community spirit

Qualifications And Experience

  • No formal qualifications required to start – this is an apprenticeship role designed to develop your skills
  • A genuine interest in working with children and supporting their learning and wellbeing
  • Willingness to engage fully in training and development opportunities
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential Ideal Candidate Qualities
  • Patient, kind, and approachable with a friendly manner
  • Committed to inclusive education and supporting all children to succeed
  • Reliable and proactive with a positive attitude
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively
