What you'll do
To be part of a small, dedicated team in VBSE managing predominantly transmission-based networks and providing operational support. You will be responsible for owning the relationship with the stakeholders, supporting both technical and stakeholder needs to understand their requirements. This role requires a passionate individual who can work effectively with the team to drive an excellent service.
- Manage dedicated services for key VBSE stakeholders.
- Work effectively with stakeholders in relation to the deployment and ongoing support for given projects.
- Perform regular audits on the networks and systems.
- Make innovative recommendations to VBSE management/stakeholders to drive improvements.
- Work closely with the project team to provide regular updates
- Carry out analytical diagnostics on the network
- Liaise with wider parties to coordinate the end-end process
Point of contact for any major incidents and carry out problem management, escalating when necessary
Who you are
- Be able to maintain confidentiality and hold security clearance.
- A clear and analytical approach to problem management.
- The ability to work in a high pressurised environment
- Willingness to learn new skills such as
- basic network configuration of the Ciena/Photonic Cross Connects,
- trouble shooting and fault finding
- Understanding of Transmission equipment and networks such as Ciena
- Telco, Network Operations background/qualifications is desired
- Understanding of ITIL working practices
- Basic concept of IP networking, switching and routing
