We have a fantastic opportunity for a Programme Manager to join our Advanced Targeting Sector, at Leonardo Edinburgh.

The Programme Manager will lead one of four Integrated Project Teams (IPT) in the Sector, responsible for delivering our world leading capabilities to a global Customer base.

You will hold a wide range of responsibilities covering strategy setting, financial review, delivery performance, Customer engagement and people management.

The current and future business plan covers contracts and campaigns across the globe and therefore the Programme Manager is expected to be an excellent communicator with all levels of seniority and a variety of nationalities and cultures. Travel in this role should be anticipated.

  • Set and deliver the strategy for the IPT, supporting the overall Sector strategy
  • Responsibility to deliver both the yearly IPT financial commitments within the Sector , as well as support delivery of the 5 year Business Plan.
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure products are developed and qualified in alignment with both Customer requirements and internal product road maps
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure products are designed and manufactured effectively and in line with our contractual commitments, whilst generating a healthy financial return for the Sector.
  • Customer Management, maintaining excellent satisfaction, through effective engagement and prioritisation of often conflicting requirements.
  • Chair IPT project performance reviews and present the outputs to the Sector and Line of Business.
  • Management and development of the IPT project managers.

What You'll Bring
Degree or equivalent

  • APM PMQ qualified or equivalent is highly desirable
  • Excellent understanding of financial controls and Project Financial management
  • An understanding of business operations from strategy to financial delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplined teams (including but not limited to Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Commercial, Planning and Sales)
  • A true people leader, focusing on building a high performing team
  • Project Management, including the ability to manage a portfolio of projects through effective direction setting, resource management, schedule risk analysis and earned value analysis
  • Strong relationship management skills for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Make it safe – An advocate for psychological safety, making those around them comfortable to participate and contribute to their highest value
  • Selfless – promotes the sharing of knowledge, rather than ownership of it.
  • Curious – Someone who has and promotes a growth mindset to challenge the norm and always find the most effective way to execute.
