The Group's Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) operates a state-of-the-art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility and is a leading and innovative provider of the highest quality feeds and agricultural inputs to dairy, beef and sheep farmers across the north and south of Ireland.

Applications are invited for the above position at our Newtownards site.

The Role:

This busy role is responsible for assisting and supporting the ordering and delivery of materials and supplies/equipment from approved vendors ensuring deliveries are on time and in full, and in line with site demands. The role will also assist in the monitoring and development of the supply base and provide cover for Material Schedulers.

Additional key responsibilities will include (Not limited to):

  • Expedite, report and ensure delivery of all materials and notify the Purchasing team of any issues.
  • Report on and help develop the suite of departmental key performance indicators and assist in team process improvements.
  • Responsible for uploading Raw Material and Packaging contracts on SAP. Maintaining contracts and reporting at defined periods. Maintenance of Purchasing Info Records as required.
  • Responsible for ordering and assisting in the purchasing of non-MRP materials and services.
  • Schedule and book-in deliveries for raw materials and packaging.
  • Ensure consumable orders are placed and appropriate stock levels are maintained.
  • Assist the purchasing team in dealing effectively with supplier quality issues in timely manner in conjunction with the Quality and Manufacturing departments, ensuring suppliers act promptly in initiating resolution to any problems.
  • Assist in the expediting of credit notes and returns to suppliers and reporting any issues to the appropriate Buyer/Scheduler.

To be successful in this role candidates will possess:

  • Experience of working within a busy office environment.
  • Strong administration experience.
  • An intermediate level of Microsoft Office Excel.
  • Ability to use Microsoft office including outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A team player.

  • Experience of using SAP and from within a purchasing role would be advantageous.
