Bunk is a restaurant / bar specialising in Cocktails & Wings. With 9 venues across Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield, Leicester, Wolverhampton Loughborough, Manchester and more on the way.

We are recruiting one supervisor to join the management team of our Loughborough establishment. There is the potential for career development in the future as the team grows.

Salary: Competitive

Hours of work: weekend and night work are part of the role. You will be contracted to work 48 hours a week. However, hours may increase from time to time to support the needs of the business.

Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

⦁ Operation running of the business during the shift as part of the management team.

⦁ Ensure all standards are adhered to (including health and safety, food hygiene and front of house)

⦁ Interaction with customers ensuring they have the best time possible

⦁ Oversee preparation of all food and drink

⦁ Assist in counting and ordering of stock

⦁ Minimize waste by occasionally checking portion sizes

⦁ Check deliveries and input onto the system

⦁ Liaising with General Manager to discuss ways to improve the business/ how it's running

⦁ Dealing with complaints in person and through email/ telephone

⦁ Checking takeaway orders to guarantee customers are getting the best quality products

⦁ Reporting any issues to above management

⦁ Enforcing alcohol regulations in line with company policies

⦁ Motivate staff and deal with any issues they have

⦁ Keep moral high on all shifts and make sure everyone's enjoying themselves (staff as well as customers)

⦁ Staff training in all areas

⦁ Potentially cover shifts when needed

⦁ Complete all end of day paperwork including the cash up

Knowledge and Experience:

⦁ Previous experience in operational management preferred but not required

⦁ Knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages

⦁ Food preparation knowledge preferred (will also be provided)

⦁ Ability to learn new systems relatively quickly

Key personality traits and skills required

⦁ Dependability– a business is only as successful as the bar and kitchen staff it employs; all staff is expected to be reliable, on time for work, and consistent with the work they do. Staff should be able to work evening shifts and generally weekends.

⦁ Physical stamina– the bar staff work on their feet for the duration of their shifts, around scheduled breaks, in bars that may be uncomfortably warm; they more around the venue constantly, work at an efficient rate for a duration of time and may carry heavy loads for short distances

⦁ Customer service– working in all areas of the bar and often the waiting table, including bars, seating areas, buffet tables, and dining rooms, staff inevitably interact with customers, willingly listening to and assisting customers with their requests. Bar staff are the first point of contact and should make customers feel welcome but also ensure a safe and friendly environment is clear for everyone.

⦁ Facility with bar equipment– the bar staff work with sharp and potentially dangerous equipment on a daily basis—whether the knives, ice crushers/machines, or high-temperature fryers, they work safely and effectively with all bar equipment

⦁ Team player –the bar staff takes direction from the management and is willing to assist other team members to get their jobs done

Salary: £27,000.00 per year
