Logistics Assistant

An established engineering company is seeking a proactive Logistics Assistant to join their team at their facility in Storrington.

Salary:
£36,500 per annum, with a review after 6 months

The Role:

A varied role supporting the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of parts. You'll liaise with suppliers and transport companies, handle import/export documentation, operate a counterbalance forklift, and support the warehouse and factory floor. This is a great opportunity to develop within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with suppliers and transport companies
• Pack and prepare parts to high standards
• Coordinate receipt, order assembly, and dispatch of goods
• Process import/export documentation for compliance
• Maintain stock records, control, and inventory accuracy
• Support warehouse organisation and factory packaging requirements
• Monitor waste and recycling records, maintain housekeeping
• Ensure health, safety, and security standards are met
• Operate mechanical handling equipment safely

Candidate Profile:

• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Microsoft Office 365 proficient
• Counterbalance forklift experience
• Understanding of import/export compliance
• Able to multitask, work independently and in a team
• Flexible, forward-thinking, and physically fit
• Keen eye for detail and pride in a tidy warehouse
