Southleigh Community Hospital is a 27 bedded locked rehab for patients suffering from mental health illness and complex needs.  We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our supportive and hardworking team here at Southleigh Community Hospital. You will make a difference to the lives of our vulnerable patients, helping to prepare them for life in the community, through behavioural activation and engagement. You will support them to learn skills that will enhance their rehabilitation potential to ensure they live a full and meaningful life following discharge.

What You'll be Doing

  • Conduct OT assessments of service users' functional abilities
  • Develop and implement personalised care plans
  • Support individuals with behavioural activation and developing various life skills, routines, and coping strategies, which can be used when moving back into the community
  • Collaborate closely with the multi-disciplinary team, and other staff at Southleigh as well as external professionals such as care co-ordinators and social workers.
  • Contribute to care planning, reviews, and risk assessments and discharge planning

What You'll Need

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions, autism, or learning disabilities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to person-centred care and recovery-focused practice
  • Valid UK Driving License is desirable but not essential
