Data Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst (Junior/Senior, depending on experience) to join our team at a specialist mortgage lender. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely delivery of regulatory and business reporting. You will manage recurring reporting cycles, maintain robust documentation, and support the development of new reports and dashboards. While you will have the capability to write new SQL scripts and build reports, where required.

Key responsibilities include:

Regulatory Reporting

Executing scheduled reporting processes, including:

• Running SQL scripts to extract required data.
• Merging internal and external data files.
• Performing rigorous data validation checks.
• Preparing and submitting reports to internal/external stakeholders.

Reporting Development

• Design, build, and enhance reports and dashboards in
  Excel
  and
  Power BI
  for internal stakeholders.
• Write new SQL scripts and develop new reports when required.

Governance & Documentation

• Maintain and update
  Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  for all reporting processes.
• Draft new SOPs for newly developed reports and ensure compliance with internal standards.

Collaboration & Support

• Work with internal teams to deliver actionable insights and visualisations.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Respond to ad-hoc data requests from stakeholders.

What we're looking for

Skills and Competencies

Essential

• Experience in a data / reporting analyst or MI role, ideally within financial services or mortgage lending.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
• Strong organisational skills to manage recurring reporting cycles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
• Excellent documentation skills for SOP creation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with process mapping, data modelling, and requirements gathering.

Desirable

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric
• Working knowledge of Finova / Apprivo2 software
• Experience in a specialist Buy to Let & Residential lending
