Hours: Wednesday & Friday only 9am-4:15pm with flexibility to cover absence. 38 weeks a year.

Salary: £12.50- £13 per hour (plus accrued holiday pay)

We are looking for a Student Support Worker who is passionate about helping students achieve — especially in Functional Skills English and Maths.

As an Alternative Provision based on a working dairy farm, WHM Education is committed to using real-work situations for students to gain confidence, independence and meaningful qualifications. Role Overview

As a Student Support Worker, you will:

  • Support tutors in delivering engaging sessions.
  • Work directly with students in Functional Skills English and Maths, helping them achieve key qualifications.
  • Provide 1:1 and group support, ensuring all students are included, motivated and making progress.
  • Assist with assessments, evidence gathering and learning activities
  • Build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, parents and external professionals.
  • Support students during both structured and unstructured times (breaks/lunches).
  • This is a rewarding role where you will have a genuine impact on young people's development and confidence.

  • Have good English and Maths skills (GCSE/Level 2 essential).
  • Are confident supporting Functional Skills content.
  • Have experience supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Are patient, positive, creative and solution-focused.
  • Can work well as part of a team and on your own initiative.
