Embedded Software Quality Engineer

£45,000 – £65,000

Onsite, Farnborough

My client is a leader in satellite communications technology, developing next-generation embedded software and chipsets that power advanced satellite payloads. As they continue expanding in the UK, they are seeking an Embedded Software Quality Engineer to ensure the highest standards of software quality on mission-critical space projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and uphold software product assurance strategies across satellite software programmes
  • Embed quality standards into delivery teams and engineering workflows
  • Assess compliance with industry software assurance standards such as ECSS-Q-ST-10C, DO-178B and AS9115
  • Develop automated verification testing and pipelines, including resilience, functional and coverage testing
  • Support static code analysis, reporting and continuous quality improvement
  • Engage directly with customers to present assurance plans and findings

What They're Looking For

  • Background working in regulated software environments with focus on test coverage and verification
  • Knowledge of software assurance standards (e.g., ECSS-Q-ST-10C, DO-178B, AS9115)
  • Experience with static analysis and coverage tools such as CPPCheck, Lint, SonarQube, GCOV, or LDRA
  • Familiarity with CI/CD integration (Git/Jenkins), Linux environments, and embedded systems testing
  • Solid understanding of QA best practice and defect management platforms like Jira or Redmine
