Duties

  • Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment
  • Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met
  • Develop innovative menus that align with current culinary trends and customer preferences
  • Manage food safety protocols, hygiene standards, and compliance with health regulations
  • Coordinate daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment
  • Train and mentor staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and service standards
  • Monitor portion control and waste management to optimise efficiency
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards before serving

Experience

  • Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
  • Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
  • Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
  • In-depth knowledge of kitchen safety standards and food safety regulations
  • Previous experience in restaurant management or as a head chef is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with hospitality operations, including serving procedures and customer service excellence
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills
