Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as a Freight Customer Service Specialist.

Be part of the movement – and play your part.

About the role

As a Freight Customer Service Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring a seamless and professional experience for our clients, acting as a central point of contact for customer support and logistics coordination. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual capable of managing a variety of tasks related to freight operations, customer communication, and regulatory compliance. Your contribution will be vital in maintaining service standards, resolving customer issues, and supporting operational efficiency across departments. This role requires you to work Monday to Friday on a rotational shift pattern between 07:30am – 18:00pm.

Please note - this role is a Fixed Term Contract for 12 Months

You will be responsible for

  • Providing timely and professional support to customers by addressing general enquiries, shipment tracking, and documentation assistance.
  • Handling specialized cargo requirements including hazardous goods, abnormal loads, and customs clearance, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Preparing and compiling service reports to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Liaising with Port Authorities, Government Agencies, and internal teams to facilitate efficient freight handling and issue resolution.
  • Communicating proactively with customers through regular updates, service notifications, and follow-ups to ensure satisfaction and foster loyalty.

About you

You are a confident and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. While prior knowledge of hazardous cargo and experience in the shipping or freight industry would be advantageous, it is not essential—we are committed to providing training to help you develop a high standard of knowledge in this area.

You take pride in being detail-oriented and customer-focused, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. You are comfortable using basic computer programs such as Word and Excel, and you're eager to learn and grow within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

A true team player, you thrive in collaborative settings but also work well independently, showing initiative and ownership of your responsibilities. You remain calm under pressure, always maintain a professional attitude, and are dedicated to delivering excellent service to both customers and colleagues.

We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. And we cannot wait for you to join.
