A Plus Care Ltd is a trusted care staffing agency established in 2014, supplying experienced HCAs, SHCAs, RGNs, Support Workers, Chefs and Kitchen Assistants to care homes across East Sussex, West Sussex, Kent and surrounding areas.

Role Overview:

This role involves working in residential, nursing, dementia or supported-living settings supported by the A Plus Care team. The position requires compassion, strong communication skills and the ability to provide high-quality, person-centred support.

Emergency and last-minute shifts are frequently available, and staff who perform well receive regular bookings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe, person-centred care
  • Support with daily activities, mobility and personal care (role dependent)
  • Promote dignity, respect and independence
  • Maintain accurate care notes and documentation
  • Work collaboratively with permanent care teams
  • Follow A Plus Care standards, safeguarding and infection control procedures
  • Represent A Plus Care in a professional and reliable manner at all times
  • Report concerns promptly to senior staff and the on-call team

Essential Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Minimum 6 months care experience (or role-specific experience)
  • Enhanced DBS (we can assist if needed)
  • Up-to-date mandatory training (A Plus Care provides free refreshers)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to travel to different care homes (agency work)

Additional Requirements for RGNs:

  • Valid NMC Pin
  • Clinical competence, medication administration, accurate record-keeping

Typical Schedules:

  • Day shifts: Early / Late / Long days
  • Night shifts
  • Weekdays and weekends
  • Emergency/last-minute shifts
  • Ongoing block bookings depending on performance

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm, Zero hours contract

Contract length: 36 months

Pay: £12.21-£14.50 per hour
