Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to your contractual office location 3 days per week for this position.

We're looking for a Risk Oversight Manager to join our second line Risk team at Tesco Bank, part of Barclays Bank UK Plc.
Focusing on Collections and Recoveries within Retail Banking. In this role, you'll use advanced analytics to shape and monitor credit risk strategies, helping ensure they're effective, compliant, and aligned with business goals. You'll also provide critical 2nd Line of Defence oversight, ensuring operational teams adhere to regulatory standards and internal policies. This is a high-impact role requiring autonomy, collaboration across functions, and a strong understanding of risk governance.

This role will be directly supporting Barclays Risk teams, working alongside a wide range of stakeholders across both Tesco Bank and Barclays.
What you'll be doing
- Support the implementation of a governance framework across Risk, Product, and Operations, ensuring effective second line oversight and escalation of emerging risks.
- Review and assess the completeness of first line operational controls, ensuring adherence to minimum risk requirements.
- Use MI to monitor portfolio performance, identify trends outside appetite, and escalate issues with clear feedback into strategy optimisation.
- Conduct deep-dive analysis into unexpected performance changes, disseminating insights and supporting operational capacity planning.
- Track and enhance end-to-end Collections & Recoveries strategies, including customer treatment frameworks and forbearance reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement through analytics, supporting segmentation and toolkit optimisation across all stages of collections.
We need you to have
- SAS/SQL experience.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to articulate complex issues at an intuitive level to a non risk audience.
- Ability to think creatively - to challenge the norm and drive through solutions in the face of challenge.
And if you have any of these, even better
- Good understanding and experience of working in a Retail Credit Risk environment.
- Awareness of Regulatory landscape and requirements governing Risk, specifically BFA.
