Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food service and eager to develop their culinary skills within a professional setting. The successful candidate will play a vital part in meal preparation, food safety, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

Duties

  • Assist with meal and food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
  • Support catering services by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in accordance with food safety standards
  • Help with inventory management by organising supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels
  • Serve food to customers or staff as required, ensuring presentation standards are met
  • Follow health and safety regulations diligently to uphold hygiene standards
  • Support the team during busy service periods by performing various kitchen tasks as directed

Experience

  • Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Familiarity with meal preparation, food safety practices, and general kitchen procedures is advantageous
  • Experience in food preparation or culinary roles will be beneficial in understanding kitchen workflows and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and adhering to health and safety regulations
