HGV Shunter Driver - Royal Mail (superhub) Crick, Northamptonshire
40 hours per week (can be 40 or 50 hour contract)

Hourly rate £15.30 ph

Monday – Friday Days (weekend overtime available)

We are recruiting for permanent HGV Shunter Drivers to work for our client site in Coventry and Northampton. As a HGV Shunter driver you will be involved in shunting trailers, Loading trailers with ballast blocks, assisting with Brake and load tests out of bays always ensuring the safe and legal operation of your equipment.

The Role Will Involve

  • Yard shunting
  • Forklift and pallet truck use in loading ballast on trailers
  • Conduct vehicle checks and ensure all equipment is safe and legal condition.
  • Assistance with small trailer repairs
  • Ensure all compliance details are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure all company vehicles are driven and always operated in accordance with road traffic law and company policy
  • Provide a high customer service always level & demonstrate company values
  • Highlight all potential business commercial opportunities to managers
  • This is a 40hr p/week role, involving flexible working between 06.00 – 18.00, and may include weekends (overtime rates)

Experience Required

  • A minimum of two years HGV experience.
  • Must hold a Class 1 licence
  • Experience in shunting or similar roles.
  • Forklift licence
  • Strong knowledge of site safety regulations.
