Job Description

A brilliant opportunity has arisen to join Aramark UK as Group Operations Manager sat within our Education & Health sector and accountableoverseeing the service delivery across the City of Bristol College group.

Working across five campuses, the GOM will work closely with a team of Catering Managers, Chefs and Kitchen Assistants to provide a balanced, nutritious range of fresh food and beverage products to students and college staff daily. This is a role for someone who is passionate, knowledgeable, focuses on the student experience each day.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will support in various projects / plans whilst also creating a unique student experience where an enjoyable and inclusive experience is at the forefront of your daily responsibilities.

This is a permanent role working Monday to Friday.

A day in the life of a Group Operations Manager:
  • Champion a culture of safety by embedding Safe Operating Procedures, conducting investigations, and continuously improving risk assessments and systems
  • Ensure all team members are properly trained for their roles, both front and back of house, and maintain compliance with health and safety standards
  • Foster a positive work environment through engagement initiatives, regular reviews, and succession planning via apprenticeship programs
  • Lead daily operations across campuses, managing catering teams and ensuring consistent, high-quality service deliver
  • Promote a customer-focused approach, ensuring exceptional service and maintaining 5-star food hygiene standards
  • sales data, manage budgets via P&L reporting, forecast risks, and lead monthly financial reviews with clear insights
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align financial and operational goals, ensuring budget targets are met.
  • Engage proactively with clients, lead regular business reviews, and address concerns promptly to maintain strong partnerships
You'll be set up for success if you have:
  • Management experience working within the hospitality arena in an operational role
  • Able to inspire large operational teams to deliver results
  • You will bring a real passion for change and proactively encouraging new and bold ideas, harnessing progressive thinking to drive transformation
  • To have a strong positive passionate focus on food and a natural flare in catering
  • Strong financial acumen and P&L accountability
  • Strong verbal and written communications in both formal and informal settings and be confident to present at all levels and varying size of teams / communities
