Job Overview

The Burning Question is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join our small team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, sales experience and a knowledge of marketing would be beneficial. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the experience for our customers through effective merchandising and maintaining an organised sales environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs.
  • Provide knowledgeable advice on product features and benefits to encourage sales. This will include stoves, fireplaces and accessories.
  • Ensuring the showroom is well presented - clean, tidy, displays correct, fires on.
  • Handle customer enquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Process transactions accurately using basic math skills for cash handling and till operations.
  • Process sales orders, and follow up on any delays to keep customers informed.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently during shifts.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail or sales is desirable but not essential.
  • Familiarity with merchandising principles and practices is advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to adapt to any tasks required.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
  • A friendly disposition with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week ( negotiable for the right candidate), but will include working Saturdays 9am til 1pm.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
