Salary & package

The salary range is dependent upon qualifications and level of experience. For a Manager the salary range is £51,000 to £58,000. For an Assistant Manager the salary range is £43,000 to £49,000. The exact level of experience or qualification is not as important to us as a professional, enthusiastic and friendly attitude coupled with a desire to work with good teammates and do the very best for our clients. 25 days holiday entitlement plus 10 statutory days. We also offer the option to buy an extra 5 days holidays per year. We operate limited flexi-time and subject to client commitments/deadlines our colleagues usually take a half day Friday every second week.

Role Description & qualifications

We are looking for two qualified or suitably experienced accountants with at least 5 years' experience in practice who are experienced in preparing annual accounts for partner review with a solid and practical understanding of accounting standards and looking after clients.

These roles are ideal for candidates who may be looking to take the next step in developing their careers or have seen the culture in their firm deteriorate following a buy out.

These roles are full-time. The requirements we are recruiting for are to both produce the work, such as preparing statutory accounts and advising clients, and also to manage and train staff. Depending upon the blend of the work in these roles we can offer hybrid working, w
e are flexible for the right candidates.

Company Description

SD Business Management is a Glasgow city centre based Chartered Certified accountancy practice offering comprehensive accounting, taxation and business advisory services to a diverse range of owner managed businesses and individuals.

We have grown considerably in the last couple of years and have a strong graduate recruitment and training programme with a supported path to ACCA/CTA qualifications.

Ongoing growth in the quality and size of our client base has recently seen us moving to a larger city centre office and we are looking to continue to grow and develop our team. We are a close knit team of sixteen people and work closely with our clients to provide personalised and practical advice to make their lives easier and more successful.

We are focussed on what is best for both our clients and our team and intend to continue to recruit the right calibre of people that will also be a good fit with our team and clients. We work hard with high standards and are focussed on the personal approach that puts our clients' and colleagues' interests above profit maximisation and unrealistic time recoverability percentages. We strive to deliver what is in our clients' best interests whilst very fairly developing, rewarding and supporting our team.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of statutory and management accounts
  • Preparation of CT 600s, SA Tax returns, VAT returns, IHT advice etc etc
  • Advising clients in face to face meetings
  • Assisting in the management and development/training of the team

Qualifications/experience

  • Professional accountancy qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CA etc or
  • 5 years or more experience working in an accountancy practice
  • Strong academic background
