Our success also lies in investing in and working closely with our external manufacturing base to ensure we are as responsive and nimble as possible whilst drawing on the experience and production efficiency of our family of dedicated CEM partners and OEM manufacturers. Above all, ipTEST is responsive.

About this role:

The manufacturing engineer works to support the manufacturing schedule and ensure the production line runs as planned. They support the technicians on the shop floor with shortages and work with the Quality Inspector to resolve any quality issues. They liaise with our suppliers on issues with BOMs or new product introduction issue.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to create documentation for the manufacture of designs, and to assist in the transfer of new products to manufacturing.
  • Support the manufacturing technicians by kitting their jobs and planning their schedules. Assisting to resolve any product shortages.
  • Work with Quality Inspector to assist in resolving any issues with product quality.
  • Working with the Quality Inspector to assist with reporting and responding to non-conformance issues.
  • Work with our suppliers to ensure the smooth transfer of product via the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase.
  • Support other departments with process improvement projects as and when needed.
  • To provide feedback and offer suggestions to engineering for the continual improvement of products.
  • To perform bench, module, and system testing of customer returns.
  • To share our common responsibility for Health and Safety in the workplace.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • A degree in Electrical and electronics engineering or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred.
  • Knowledge of using the MRP/ERP systems. Previous experience or certification in the same is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing techniques and equipment used in the fabrication of mechanical components.
  • Understanding of the properties of materials used.
  • Familiarity with electrical and electronic components and assembly techniques
    .
