Location: Milton Keynes – Hybrid, 2 days a week in the office
Contract Type: Permanent – 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £35,000 - £39,000
About the Role
We're looking for a proactive, people-focused Employee Relations Advisor to join our supportive and friendly HR team. You'll be part of a collaborative group that values open communication, professional growth, and making a real difference to the employee experience.
In this key role, you'll provide expert guidance, support, and case management across a wide range of employee relations matters. As a trusted point of contact for managers and employees alike, you'll help ensure every situation is handled fairly, consistently, and in line with UK employment law, organisational policy, and best practice.
Your work will play a vital part in shaping a positive workplace culture, supporting our people, and helping the organisation thrive.
What You'll Be Doing
- Act as the first point of contact for general people-related queries from employees and managers.
- Support employee relations processes such as disciplinary, grievance, and absence management — including investigations and formal meetings.
- Partner with managers to ensure performance management processes are followed and documented effectively.
- Support the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, probation reviews, benefit administration, and exit interviews.
- Maintain and review people-related policies, ensuring updates are communicated effectively across the business.
- Prepare accurate monthly payroll data and attend review meetings with the Payroll Team.
- Manage key HR administrative cycles such as recognition programmes, long service awards, and annual benefit windows.
What You'll Bring
- Proven specialism for Employee Relations and providing first-line HR advice with experience in an advisory level HR role.
- CIPD Level qualification (or equivalent experience) – desirable but not essential.
- High emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
- A proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge and influence where needed.
- Strong customer focus, curiosity, and a genuine desire to improve the employee experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to varied audiences.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
