Are you calm under pressure, great at reading people, and passionate about helping young people succeed?

We're looking for De-escalation Mentors to join our supportive school teams in the Hailsham and Bexhill areas , working with both primary and secondary-aged students who need a little extra guidance to stay on track.

You'll play a key role in maintaining a positive, safe, and calm environment — helping students regulate emotions, move smoothly between classes, and engage positively with learning.

What You'll Do
  • Support students during transitions between classes and around the school
  • Help de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively
  • Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Support the smooth flow of the school day and help create a nurturing environment
  • Work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to promote wellbeing and inclusion
We're Looking For People With:
  • Experience or transferable skills from roles such as:

-Youth Mentor - Behaviour Support Assistant -Learning Mentor -Teaching Assistant -Support Worker -Care Assistant -Sports Coach -Youth or Community Worker
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
- Resilience and the ability to stay composed in challenging moments
- A natural ability to guide and motivate young people
- Understanding of behaviour management and emotional needs (training provided)

  • Start: Immediate or flexible start dates
  • Pay: Competitive, depending on experience
