Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with the ability to help lead and manage a team effectively. You will be responsible for creating delicious dishes that meet our high standards of quality and presentation while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in our traditional hospitality environment.
Duties
- Work with Head chef on daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service.
- Must have a passion for the food industry
- Work along side the Head chef in the preparation and cooking of high-quality food according to the menu.
- Help in the supervision of junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure optimal performance.
- Take charge of the kitchen and lead operations in the absence of the Head chef.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety, hygiene and Environmental Health guidelines.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
- Assist with or handle food ordering, manage stock control and monitor food usage and wastage.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working order.
- Foster a positive team atmosphere, encouraging collaboration and communication among staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire a team would be an advantage.
- Prior experience in food production is essential; culinary qualifications are advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.00-£14.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
