We are looking for an experienced health or social care worker with good organisational skills to support our Manager in our small, well-established residential care home.

Capable and kind, the right person will be an integral member of our dedicated team looking after 20 residents over 65, some of whom have dementia related illnesses.

A full-time role offering 36 hrs a week, there will be some shift care work alongside office based duties. Ideally, the right candidate will be locally based, due to on-call duties.

We work a two-week set rota, which includes alternate weekends. Shifts are 7.30am to 4pm and 4pm to 9.30pm. Office based work can be flexible between 7.30am and 5pm

We require a good team member, who can help deliver a warm and caring environment for our residents. Able to act on your own initiative and cover for the Manager, you will need excellent communication skills, experience of hands-on caring and dispensing medications.

Duties

  • Organise and run 2/3 shifts per week, carry out medication rounds to a high standard.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene.
  • Assist the Manager with audits and quality compliance, recruitment and the ensuing documentation.
  • Assist in supervisions of staff and care planning.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Office skills desirable, however training given to the right candidate.

Requirements

  • Previous experience of health or social care is essential, L3 Diploma or above.
  • Have good computer skills and attention to detail is important.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexible and reliable.

  • A locally based person is important, due to on-call duties being a requirement.
