We are looking for an experienced carer to support our Manager in our small, well-established residential care home near York.

Capable and kind, the right person will be an integral member of our dedicated team looking after 20 residents over 65, some of whom have demential related illnesses.

A part-time role of 25 to 30 hours per week, ideally, you will be based in the York area, due to on-call duties. We work a two-week rota, which includes alternate weekends. Shifts are 7.30am to 4pm and 4pm to 9.30pm,

Top of our list is a good team member, who can help deliver a warm and caring environment for our residents; safe, kind and loving. Able to act on your own initiative and capable of running shifts, you should have excellent communication skills, experience of hands-on caring and medication use.

Duties:

  • Organise and run the shift, carry out medication rounds to a high standard.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene.
  • Assist the Manager with audits and quality compliance.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience is essential, and a L2 or L3 care qualification is a bonus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and their families.

Please note: engaging a local person is important, as taking a turn for on-call duties is a requirement for this role.
