Interim Product Director

Our client are on a bold, market-shaping initiative to build a brand-new retail media platform from the ground up. This greenfield venture has full board-level backing and will sit alongside the organisation's highly successful existing retail media proposition.

The ambition is to deliver a next-generation platform that unites audience targeting, inventory management, campaign delivery, and measurement in one seamless, scalable solution

  • You will be joining at the very start of the journey, with the rare chance to define the product vision, architecture, and delivery model for a platform set to redefine the retail media space.
  • The project has a clear strategic mandate, significant preparatory work completed, and a committed leadership team ready to move from business case to execution.
  • The launch market will be the UK, with a long-term ambition to scale internationally, potentially through SaaS or managed service models.

What we're looking for

We're seeking a strategic yet hands-on product leader who thrives in early-stage build environments and can operate at both vision and execution level. You'll be comfortable engaging deeply on technology, data flows, and integration of third-party components, while aligning diverse stakeholders, from engineers to commercial partners, around a shared roadmap.

Experience we value includes:

  • Leading complex, high-scale platform builds in retail media, ad tech, digital commerce, or high-traffic consumer digital environments.
  • Proven ability to move from concept to launch in ambiguous, high-stakes settings.
  • Balancing commercial outcomes with technical feasibility.
  • Building and leading agile squads or cross-functional teams in high-growth contexts.

Impact in your first year

  • Delivering industry-leading pilots with select partners, validating product-market fit and generating early revenue.
  • Launching the first version of the platform within 12 months, with a clear iteration plan.
  • Establishing a high-performing product delivery organisation capable of scaling the proposition.

This is an interim role, starting ASAP. Immediate availability it essential. London based, hybrid (3 days per week on-site)
