The Business

A private equity–backed healthcare company delivering evidence-based treatment programmes within a specialised clinical area. The organisation is experiencing strong growth, supported by a robust technology platform and ambitious expansion plans into virtual care and scalable treatment programmes.

Currently operating from a flagship London site, the business combines in-person and virtual programmes, with a significant amount of private-pay clients and the remainder NHS-funded. Backed by a leading mid-market private equity firm, the company is at an exciting inflection point- investing in technology, clinical outcomes, and operational excellence to drive sustainable growth.

The Role

The business is seeking an
Interim Finance Director
to provide hands-on leadership and commercial financial support during a period of transition. Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the CEO and investors, this role will play a key part in strengthening financial controls, improving reporting, and driving cost efficiency.

You'll be joining a small but capable finance team, including a strong Finance Manager and Accounts Assistants, and will have the support of an experienced interim CFO who remains available for strategic oversight as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the day-to-day finance lead, partnering closely with the Managing Director to deliver operational and strategic objectives.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and clarity for leadership and investors.
  • Manage cashflow forecasting and cost control, supporting efforts to reduce spend and improve efficiency.
  • Oversee and improve management accounts, ensuring meaningful analysis and insight are provided to the Board.
  • Develop KPI reporting and dashboards to enable better decision-making across the business.
  • Support the audit process, ensuring completion by end of Q1 2026.
  • Drive initiatives to improve contract costing, tender pricing, and overall commercial rigour.
  • Lead on cost reduction, contract renegotiation, and performance improvement projects.

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in
    PE-backed
    environments.
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on, fast-paced setting with limited infrastructure.
  • Strong FP&A and reporting skills, with the ability to design and implement KPI frameworks.
  • Proven experience managing cashflow and cost efficiency in a business with complex service delivery models.
  • Experience in the
    healthcare
    industry advantageous but not essential.
  • Pragmatic, commercially minded, and capable of partnering effectively with both operational teams and investors.

  2. Deliver a refreshed cashflow forecast and implement tighter cost controls.
  3. Design and implement KPI reporting frameworks and dashboards.
  4. Prepare and manage the year-end audit process.
