Retail Jewellery Temporary Christmas Part Time Weekend Sales Assistant

Starting Date November 2025

Are you experienced in retail, creative and passionate about selling?

We are looking for a dedicated, creative individual who is motivated, enthusiastic and enjoys customer service to join our busy well-established jewellery shops located within Edinburgh city centre.

Please note: This role does involve using stairs and you may be required to stand for long periods of time.

Main Responsibilities

  • Influence and increase sales in a one-to-one selling environment
  • Maintaining high shop floor standards, keeping displays clean and well presented at all times
  • Stock replenishment
  • Operating EPOS till system, handling cash and card transactions including returns and exchanges
  • Build the bond between the Palenque brand and our customers, by answering queries, and providing excellent, friendly service
  • Encourage customer loyalty through our loyalty & mailing list schemes
  • Assisting with stock deliveries/organisation/merchandising
  • Ongoing training to develop knowledge of products and the company

Essential Skills

  • Current or recent retail experience is desirable, experience in the jewellery sector an advantage but not essential
  • A dedicated, intelligent, and conscientious individual who is highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic in their work
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Possess a high level of customer service
  • Excellent organisational and motivational skills
  • Possess a flair for creativity and visual merchandising
  • PC literate is an advantage
  • Must have good time keeping

Hours and Pay:

This position is TEMPORARY- November 1st December 24th 2025

5-12 hours: Saturday & Sunday (MUST BE AVAILABLE BOTH DAYS)

Part time weekend cover and occasional weekday shifts in run up to Christmas

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK UNTILL 24TH OF DECEMBER 2025

Minimum: 5 hours per week

Usual working day between 9.30am-6pm Monday-Saturday, 11am-5pm Sunday, opening times may vary during Festive Season

Hourly rate of pay will be in line with UK Government National Minimum Wage PLUS commission

Pay includes:

  • Monthly individual commission based on shop sales performance

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: £12.21-£12.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 5 per week
