Gresham Hunt are representing a global, private equity backed backed insurance group, in their search for a Senior FP&A Manager. This is a growth hire based out of their central Manchester office with on site attendance required one day per week.

Having personally made multiple placements across the finance team I know the business and stakeholders incredibly well so can share detailed information about the role, the culture and the businesses growth plans.

The person:

  • Qualified in a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to deliver financial information to financial and non financial stakeholders
  • Experienced in Transaction Services, with extensive exposure to financial due diligence.
  • Familiarity with planning and consolidation tools such as Anaplan

The role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end Group budget and forecasting cycle, acting as the primary driver of timelines, coordination, and output quality.
  • Produce insightful analysis comparing current performance against budget and forecast, helping senior leaders understand drivers of variance and future expectations.
  • Prepare high-quality monthly Group reporting packs, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and meaningful commentary.
  • Interpret and communicate Group-wide results and trends, translating financial data into clear, actionable insights for management.
  • Support the development and enhancement of executive-level reporting, including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet outputs, to better surface performance issues.
  • Work closely with senior finance leadership to deliver quarterly Board reports, ensuring consistency and relevance of information.
  • Assist in producing comprehensive budget and forecast information packs for circulation to the Board and senior stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, systems, and data flow, and recommend changes that enhance efficiency and insight.
  • Provide rapid, accurate ad-hoc financial analysis, often under pressure, in response to evolving business priorities and senior leadership requests.
