Purpose of the Role

To handle incoming customer orders and enquiries efficiently and accurately, ensuring that every TFS customer receives a high standard of service. The role involves processing orders, liaising with the warehouse and transport teams, and maintaining accurate records in our ordering system.

This hire will completely be about the person that can help us get to the next stage in our growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take daily customer orders by mainly phone but also email, or answerphone.
  • Upsell on products
  • Input orders into the company's order system - Fresho.
  • Confirm prices where required, quantities with customers.
  • Liaise with warehouse and transport teams to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Handle customer queries and resolve minor delivery or product issues.
  • Upsell or promote weekly specials and new product lines.
  • Ensure all customer account information is accurate and up to date.
  • Provide reports or summaries for daily order volumes and issues.
  • Assist with general administrative duties in the sales office.

Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • A good communicator with experience working within a similar role
  • Competent computer skills – Excel, email systems, and order-entry software.
  • A team player with a proactive approach.
  • Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused.

Desirable:

  • Experience within a foodservice / wholesale / catering environment.
  • Familiarity with chilled, frozen, and ambient food products.
  • Knowledge of the local area and customer types.
  • Previous use of Fresho or similar ordering systems.

  • Friendly and approachable with a positive attitude.
  • Calm under pressure and adaptable during busy trading periods.
  • Enthusiastic about providing excellent service.
  • Self-motivated with good organisational skills.

Working Hours & Environment

  • Typically late Sunday 4pm - 9pm, Monday to Thursday 10:30am - 8:30pm
  • Office-based within the TFS depot
