Primary SEN Teacher (Mixed KS1 & KS2) – SEN School – Finchley
A vibrant SEN school in Finchley is seeking an enthusiastic Primary SEN Teacher to support a diverse group of mixed-age KS1 and KS2 students in developing both academically and socially. In this full-time, permanent role, you'll help create a positive learning environment where students with unique learning needs can build confidence, enhance their abilities, and reach their individual goals.
Role Highlights
- Full-time, permanent role within a dynamic and inclusive SEN school dedicated to individualized learning and holistic student development
- Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans that cater to the unique needs and abilities of each student, fostering both academic progress and social-emotional growth
- Work closely with a team of SEN professionals, including support staff and therapists, to tailor learning strategies and provide cohesive support to each child
- Cultivate a nurturing, engaging classroom atmosphere where students feel valued, encouraged, and motivated to actively participate in their learning
- Benefit from continuous professional development opportunities, including specialized training in SEN practices, to enhance your teaching techniques and knowledge
- Monitor and assess each student's progress, adapting approaches as needed and maintaining open communication with parents and SEN specialists to ensure aligned and effective support
Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in primary teaching; prior exposure to SEN settings is advantageous but not required
- A commitment to inclusive education, with a proactive approach to student engagement and the flexibility to adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs
- Patience, empathy, and strong organizational skills, enabling you to support students across a range of academic and developmental abilities in a constructive, individualized manner
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaborating effectively with support staff, therapists, and families, creating a unified approach to each child's growth
- A current and clear Enhanced DBS check is required to ensure the safety and well-being of all students
