Team/Role Overview
This role is crucial for driving the Core Accounts product management agenda across 51 markets within the UK, Europe & MEA Clusters. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the existing DDA (Demand Deposit Account) product within our bank-in-a-box platforms. This involves comprehensive ownership of product definition, development, and execution, including building and prioritizing a product backlog and business requirements, defining associated product and business processes, and ensuring robust risk & controls. This position requires a senior candidate with a strong background in product management and product risk & controls, combined with knowledge and/or experience in Services and associated business processes. The role reports directly to the UK, Europe & MEA Cluster Head of Core Accounts and involves close partnership with other Services product teams, technology, operations, and risk & controls first and second line teams.
What you'll do
As a Core Accounts Product Manager
Own Core Accounts product documentation (including Regulatory Reference Guides) and ensure adherence to standards and regulations at a Market level.
Drive product development and execution by identifying, prioritizing, and authoring product/business requirements, participating in agile planning sessions, and ensuring solutions deliver on investments.
Manage the ongoing performance and maintenance of DDA products, focusing on client experience, pricing, risk, and distribution strategies.
Provide strategic direction on product development, representing customer needs and partnering with sales and client management to identify and size new opportunities.
Reinforce the value stream model across Product and Technology teams, driving ownership and accountability for capabilities residing on legacy core banking infrastructure.
Ensure product governance and compliance by participating in the Product Approval Program and managing proactive product, documentation, credit, legal, and regulatory risks for all markets.
Appropriately assess and mitigate risk in all business decisions, safeguarding Citigroup's reputation and assets, ensuring compliance with laws, policies, and escalating control issues transparently.
Build consensus and awareness of the product value proposition throughout the organization and with key partners.
What we'll need from you
We are looking for a highly experienced professional with strong expertise in product management and a deep understanding of financial services:
Extensive experience in Product Management and/or Product Development discipline.
Strong knowledge of Core Accounts/DDA and Services products, with a proven ability to work at scale.
Deep expertise in establishing and enhancing a Product controls environment.
Proven ability to make complex judgments, solve intricate problems, and develop effective solutions.
Demonstrated experience driving software delivery transformation through Agile practices and fostering a Continuous Delivery culture.
Exceptional diplomacy, influencing, and presentation skills for effective engagement with both internal and external stakeholders, including clients and senior management.
Bachelor's/University degree required; Master's degree preferred.
