About you
Are you a dynamic and values-driven Communications Manager, passionate about respectful, sustainable, community-owned approaches to girls' education and young women's leadership? Do you thrive on working collaboratively across teams and time zones (North America to East Africa)?
We are looking for a nuanced communicator, strategic thinker and relationship-builder with sound judgment; a solid grounding in content strategies for social and digital media; and a proven track record of stewarding communications partnerships with corporate and institutional partners in the international nonprofit sector.
Who we are
CAMFED (Campaign for Female Education) is an award-winning organization tackling poverty and inequality by supporting girls from rural areas in Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe to go to school, thrive, and become leaders and change makers in their communities. Our unique, grassroots-led model has been honored with the world's largest education and humanitarian prizes, and our CEO was named among TIME100's most influential people of 2025.
CAMFED has achieved unprecedented results in improving education outcomes among some of the world's most disadvantaged young people, and unlocking the power of young women to create the future they imagine for themselves, for their communities, and for Africa. We have a reputation for being innovative, resourceful, and effective, and have attracted extensive support from a high-profile network that spans government, philanthropy, celebrity, and business.
CAMFED not only revolutionizes how girls' education is delivered; we also differentiate ourselves in our communications, which are designed to reflect our operating model and values across platforms and partnerships with safeguarding at the core, and an emphasis on African women's leadership. We highlight this model by amplifying the voices and expertise of the girls we serve, and the change leaders they become.
About this role
The Communications Manager will work closely with our Director of Communications at CAMFED International, and the communications, digital marketing and development teams across multiple continents and time zones. You will help to refine and deliver our content and communications plans for the year, maintaining strong relationships across teams.

Act as a sounding board for colleagues, and support them to prioritize and strategically apply content across channels, platforms and partnerships
Support guidance for team members around communications best practices, when needed
Partner Communications (~50%)
Co-develop communications plans for key partnerships with Development and Executive Team colleagues, and support the delivery of rich and tailored content
Collaborate with communications and development team colleagues to translate program impact into high-quality, narrative-rich content
Provide day-to-day partnership support, making the most of resources and supporting efficient and cost-effective operations
Ensure that communications supporting and uplifting our donor partnerships align with CAMFED's brand voice, core values, donor expectations and partnership agreements
Support content for donor solicitation as needed
Social media & digital oversight (~25%)
Provide strategic oversight and editorial review of social media content for CAMFED's and partner platforms to ensure alignment with our organizational values and mission
Manage the content calendar in collaboration with team members and external content creators, ensuring consistency, relevance and that other teams are consulted and their priorities are considered

Familiarity with social media scheduling tools (e.g. Sprout Social)
Skills collaborating in Google Workspace and knowledge of Salesforce CRM and design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Suite) are a plus.
The duties and responsibilities in this role profile are not exhaustive and are subject to change according to the needs of the organization.
