Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality care and support to 12 clients with varying needs, including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, learning difficulties, and mental health conditions. The role focuses on promoting independence, ensuring safety, and enhancing emotional wellbeing in a 24/7 staffed service.
Key Responsibilities:- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities such as washing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Promote Independence: Support clients in developing skills for independent living.
- Emotional Support: Provide companionship and encourage positive mental health.
- Safety & Supervision: Maintain a safe environment and respond to emergencies appropriately.
- Documentation: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of care plans, incidents, and progress.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues to deliver consistent, person-centered care.
- Compliance: Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety policies at all times.
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic IT skills for record-keeping.
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality principles.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
- Previous experience in a care or support role.
