Inventory Associate

Our Inventory Optimisation team is now looking for an Inventory Associate Administrator to join our operations based at the Thames Valley Distribution Centre in Thatcham. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting stock integrity, product placement, and inventory control within a fast-paced distribution environment.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate inventory counts, overseeing stock movements, and supporting product placement strategies across the warehouse. Reporting to the Inventory Optimisation Assistant Manager, you will work both independently and collaboratively, with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and quality. You will work with the Inventory Optimisation Team to complete targeted checks on areas with known integrity issues to discover the underlying cause for the issue, with a view of improving stock integrity throughout the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out perpetual inventory counts using SAP.
  • Producing and reconciling stock variance reports.
  • Managing stock movements and product placement across the Distribution Centre.
  • Resolving delivery errors and contributing to stock consolidation and capacity improvement.
  • Executing regular stock audits to maintain integrity and compliance.
  • Coaching colleagues on best practices and supporting operational excellence.
  • Ensuring the warehouse is well organised, clean, and stock is accessible.
  • General inventory support, including but not limited to stock rotation, write-offs, and location management.
  • Championing health and safety standards at all times.
  • Supporting team projects and urgent operational tasks.

As part of the team at Thatcham, you will also benefit from local recognition schemes with £25 prizes, exclusive giveaways, and staff trips to our iconic Knightsbridge store. In addition, Harrods offers a range of company-wide benefits including subsidised medical and dental cover, discounted gym membership, and more.

About You

You will be an experienced warehouse and distribution professional, confident working with high inventory volumes and fast-moving operations. You will have strong SAP experience and a proven ability to work to high standards of accuracy.

You will also have:

  • A sound understanding of stock management and inventory control.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, positive mindset and a commitment to operational excellence.
