Facility Engineer
Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Facility Engineer to join our Operations team, where you'll support the day-to-day functionality and long-term efficiency of our UK facilities. This role will be based at our Tewkesbury site, and regular travel between both our Gloucestershire sites may be required to support projects and operational needs.
Ontic is more than just a business—we're a community of innovators who pride ourselves on fostering a culture where talent thrives, ideas flourish, and careers are built. We're committed to excellence, which drives us to continuously improve and adapt, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of our industry.
The Role:
As our Facility Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting and managing building and maintenance services across the site. During the initial facility build-out, you'll develop a thorough understanding of all systems, infrastructure, and support services. Once operational, you'll take the lead in ensuring efficient, compliant, and proactive facility management, drawing on both internal teams and third-party contractors.
From managing preventative maintenance schedules and coordinating call-outs, to ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and security procedures, your work will keep our operations running smoothly. You'll work cross-functionally, liaising with contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders to deliver facility support that enables wider business success.
About you:
At Ontic, our culture is integral to making sure we enjoy our work and deliver for our customers. While we look for the right skill set, we're also looking for someone who will thrive within our recognition and empowerment culture.
To be successful in this role, you'll need a recognised qualification in a commercial facilities discipline—whether electrical, gas, or plumbing—and have proven experience in facilities management. You'll bring a hands-on approach to managing essential services such as infrastructure maintenance, equipment servicing, site security, waste management, and contractor oversight.
You'll need to be confident using Microsoft Office applications, communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, and making informed decisions to ensure compliance, safety, and operational continuity. Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment would be beneficial, and the ability to remain flexible and responsive in a fast-paced, evolving setting is key.
Benefits:
At Ontic we care about your financial, physical, and mental wellbeing. We offer a range of benefits to support this and have a valued culture of recognition and empowerment, accompanied by rewards that support work/life balance.
Our benefits package includes:
- Up to 29 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
- 10 hours paid volunteering time
- Annual goal share bonus scheme for all employees
- 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Discounts and offers from a wide range of retailers
Best Place to Work
We are more than the sum of our parts—and we've been recognised for it:
- Ranked #9 in Best Companies' Q3 leaderboard for Best Manufacturing Company, based on employee feedback
- 72.5% of employees in our 2023 satisfaction survey said they're proud to work at Ontic
With continued growth, no two days are the same at Ontic. We believe in empowering our colleagues to create opportunities and encouraging autonomy—where we ask for forgiveness, not permission.

Our values are intrinsic to everything we do:
- We share a common sense – A global family of specialists with a shared passion for precision
- We have the freedom to choose – Challengers and innovators who think differently
- We create the opportunity – Change-makers with a clear direction and a can-do spirit
