Moog Commercial Aircraft Group in Tewkesbury is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Inspector to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a precision-driven environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards in aerospace manufacturing.
The Quality Inspector reports to the Quality Inspection Manager and is responsible for inspecting parts and assemblies at various stages of manufacture, including final inspection prior to customer dispatch. The role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve non-conformances and may include support for problem-solving activities, engineering investigations, and corrective action initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect parts and assemblies, including subcontracted components, using appropriate inspection equipment
- Conduct final inspections of valve assemblies, including visual checks and documentation review
- Issue Authorized Release Certificates following successful inspection
- Review supplier FAIRs and support completion of FAIRs for finished assemblies
- Raise non-conformance reports and coordinate disposition with relevant stakeholders
- Act as a delegated Quality representative in customer interactions
- Collaborate with the team to meet departmental objectives
Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 3, BTEC National Certificate, or equivalent academic background, plus 5 years in precision manufacturing
- Alternatively, 3 years of Quality Control experience may substitute for manufacturing experience
- Proficiency in inspection techniques and use of measuring instruments
- Understanding of finishing processes, assembly and test methods, and workmanship standards
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply quality standards such as AS9100 and AS9102
- Strong communication skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving
- Familiarity with EASA/CAA regulations is advantageous
