Job Description - Cook/Chef

We are looking to recruit a Cook/Chef to join our catering team at Burlington Hall, Woburn Sands MK17 8RR. Burlington Hall is a residential care home for the elderly and those living with dementia.

We are looking for a compassionate and caring person who will make a difference to the lives of our residents.

Your duties will include

  • Managing the kitchen team to prepare healthy and nutritious meals for our residents, taking into account dietary requirements and residents' needs
  • Ensuring a range of options for our residents, ensuring choice at meal times
  • Ordering stock and preparing menus
  • Checking and maintaining kitchen equipment, reporting any damages or breakages to the Home Manager
  • Working and supervising staff to work within COSHH and HACCP regulations
  • Maintaining the highest hygiene standards and ensuring infection control protocols are followed in the kitchen and storeroom

The successful candidate will

  • Experience in running a kitchen preferred, however training can be given to the right candidate
  • Have experience in cooking for large groups and menu planning
  • Be aware and comply with infection control policies and procedures
  • Be able to use information and knowledge obtained from residents as well as dietary questionnaires to plan menus for the care home

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £13.50 per hour
