About the Role

We are looking for a Senior E-Commerce Full Stack Software Engineer to play a key role in the development, optimisation and future modernisation of our high-traffic B2C websites and mobile apps. You will work across both front-end and back-end technologies, lead on performance optimisation, CRO and A/B testing, and help evolve our digital platforms over the next 18–24 months.

This is a senior technical position suited to someone who can make an immediate impact, bring strong practical engineering experience, and contribute to the long-term technical vision of the team. You'll collaborate closely with CRO specialists, SEO analysts, UX/UI designers, digital stakeholders and other engineers across a growing digital function.

What You'll Do

  • Build, run and optimise A/B tests and personalisation experiments to improve conversion and customer experience.

  • Develop and maintain high-performing, responsive B2C websites and apps.

  • Enhance SEO features, website crawlability, indexing and search ranking performance.

  • Implement front-end improvements focused on performance, accessibility, and mobile-first best practices.

  • Work with existing back-end technologies (Classic ASP / ASP.NET) while contributing to long-term platform modernisation.

  • Manage and optimise digital analytics and marketing integrations using tools such as Adobe Launch, Adobe Analytics and Adobe Target.

  • Monitor performance using tools such as New Relic and ELK, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.

  • Contribute technical insights during Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Ensure adherence to security best practices and relevant UK compliance standards.

  • Coach and mentor team members and support in building long-term engineering capability.

What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years' experience in software engineering with experience building high-availability, high-traffic systems.

  • Strong full-stack capability:

  • Front end: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS

  • Back end: Classic ASP, ASP.NET, familiarity with C# or Java

  • Experience working on transactional E-Commerce sites or similar high-volume digital environments.

  • Strong practical experience with CRO, A/B testing and personalisation (Adobe Target preferred).

  • Solid technical SEO knowledge including indexing, site architecture, structured data and mobile optimisation.

  • Experience with performance optimisation (lazy loading, caching, code splitting) and metrics (FCP, LCP, CLS).

  • Understanding of web security best practices (XSS, CSRF, CORS, SQLi).

  • Ability to work autonomously, make informed technical decisions and handle multiple workstreams.

  • Experience across digital marketing technologies, merchandising and user experience optimisation.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Selenium).

  • Experience with UK retail or multi-category E-Commerce environments.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.

Who You Are

  • A problem solver with strong technical judgement.

  • A clear communicator who can work effectively across diverse teams.

  • Pragmatic, delivery-focused and comfortable working at pace.

  • Someone who can contribute knowledge, raise engineering standards, and mentor others.

  • Able to build trust quickly and operate with autonomy.

Working Style

  • Hybrid working with the ability to commute to Bradford as required.

  • Willingness to occasionally work additional hours to support major releases or project deadlines.

  • Opportunity to contribute to a growing digital engineering team and influence future technical direction.
