What You'll Do
To assist in the delivery of high-quality accommodation-based support services to vulnerable adults, including those at risk of homelessness in line with Excel Housing Solutions' vision. Recovery Support Worker will be required to work in partnership with statutory agencies to reduce the risk of homelessness, health issues, offending, and to reduce the risk of harm to the community. This job role is mainly based in Sefton, however you may be required to visit other sites.
Core Tasks:
Assess referrals via a referral system, conduct assessments and record all interactions on the EHS systems.
To support and assist clients, as determined by their individual needs, identified through assessment and support planning. Review these plans on a regular basis and identify progress or slippage and amend these plans accordingly in order to encourage positive life changes.
Develop specialist skills through training and other learning methods to effectively respond to need, e.g. issues affecting rough sleepers, ex-offenders, those with mental health issues and use these skills to work with clients using a trauma-informed approach.
Assist clients in managing their personal affairs, i.e Housing Benefit claims and encourage them to make positive changes to maximise their potential via education and employment services.
To work within a team by supporting colleagues and attending team meetings and training when required with a positive outlook. Use reflective practice to look at the outcomes from your clients and share this with other staff members.
Property Standards:
Ensure the safety and security of clients, staff and visitors at all times by ensuring premises are secure at all times.
Enforce the EHS non-smoking policy in communal areas where applicable.
Ensure that the dwelling (including the cartilage) is kept in a clean and tidy condition (inside and out).
Partnership Work:
Maintain professional relationships with external agencies and established partnerships.
To promote EHS positively to partnership agencies and stakeholders and enable other members of staff to engage effectively with external agencies in a professional manner.
Occupancy Management
Ensure occupants understand and comply with the terms of their occupancy and report any breaches to your line manager.
Keep voids to a minimum by ensuring that you respond timely to referrals and placements, and if there are any maintenance issues, these are reported on the database as soon as possible. Assist in clearing rooms following EHS procedures in a timely manner to re-let the room.
To be responsible for service charge payments and any rent payments and to keep concise records.
