Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dental and Health Services Manager to oversee the daily operations of dental/orthodontic healthcare facilities for four sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating patient care, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about improving dental/Orthodontic healthcare delivery and organisational efficiency. Candidates should possess strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of patient care and nursing practices.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of patient care services to ensure high standards of quality and safety
- Develop and implement policies and procedures in line with healthcare regulations and best practices
- Coordinate with Dental/Orthodontist/Therapist practitioners to optimise patient treatment plans
- Monitor operational budgets, resource allocation, and procurement processes
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and confidentiality requirements
- Facilitate effective communication between staff, patients, and external organisations
- Organise training programmes to enhance staff skills and organisational efficiency
- Ensuring board policies are executed and statutory procedures are rigorously followed, prioritizing patient safety and risk management.
- Proven experience in health services management, including oversight of healthcare programs or services, ideally with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to implement organizational policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and risk management.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and manage healthcare staff, including recruitment, training, appraisal, and professional development.
- Budget Management: Competence in managing budgets and financial resources, ensuring that objectives are met within set constraints.
- Statistical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills to use statistical information for performance monitoring and strategic planning.
- Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with healthcare providers and purchasers.
- Skills in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of healthcare services, with a commitment to continuous improvement in healthcare provision.
- Collaborating with dentist, orthodontist, therapist and other professionals to identify short and long-term healthcare needs within budgetary constraints.
- Directing the daily operations of health units or services and providing effective leadership to staff.
- Analyzing data to monitor performance and assist in planning for improved healthcare delivery.
- Overseeing recruitment, appraisal, and development of staff to cultivate a skilled workforce.
- Reporting on service performance and implementing strategies to enhance the efficiency of healthcare provision.
Experience
- Proven experience in a healthcare management role or similar position within a dental or orthodontic health services environment
- Strong background in patient care, nursing, or related clinical fields is highly desirable
- Excellent IT skills for managing electronic health records and administrative systems
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with staff, patients, and external stakeholders
- Organisational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently and effectively
- Knowledge of healthcare legislation, policies, and best practices in patient care management
