Helix Group is an established and expanding organisation with its main operations based in Peterborough. As we continue to grow our new Manchester operations, we are looking for a driven and ambitious Trainee Manager to join our team and develop into a key leader within the company.

This role is designed for individuals who are eager to build a career in management, enjoy working with people, and want a clear developmental pathway supported by hands-on training and mentorship.

About the Role

As a Trainee Manager, you will gain industry and operational knowledge across key areas of the business, including sales, customer service, team coordination, and day-to-day operations.

You will work closely with experienced managers, learning how to lead teams, support customers, and contribute to the overall success of our Manchester branch. This is a structured development role with the long-term potential to progress into a leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and support daily business operations across departments.
  • Assist in supervising team activities and supporting performance improvement.
  • Develop leadership skills by collaborating with staff and management.
  • Support sales and customer service activities when required.
  • Contribute to planning, organisation, and problem-solving tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records and support internal reporting.
  • Participate in structured training and personal development plans.
  • Promote company values, professionalism, and a positive team environment.

Skills and Qualities

  • Ambitious, motivated, and eager to learn management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Organised with good time-management skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work well in teams and adapt to new challenges.
  • Previous experience is beneficial but not essential – full training provided.
