About Us:
The Mitre Hotel is a busy, vibrant city-centre venue with a fast-paced kitchen serving both hotel guests and walk-in customers. We're looking for a hands-on Chef who can deliver consistent quality across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service in a dynamic environment.
The Role:
You'll be working independently much of the time, managing breakfast service for hotel guests and preparing for main service, which runs from12.00 PM– 9:00 PM. This role suits a capable, organized chef who's comfortable running the kitchen solo around 50% of the time.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook dishes across breakfast and main service to a high standard
- Manage stock, prep, and ordering as required
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards
- Ensure smooth service and communicate effectively with FOH staff
- Deliver quality food under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar chef role
- Confident working alone and managing a busy kitchen
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends
- Food hygiene certification preferred
