London E BJ, United Kingdom Tower Hamlets Full time £10,000 - £20,000 per year
About The Role

We are recruiting two Young Scrutineers to join us in the Tower Hamlets Safeguarding Children Partnership.

Are you are interested in sharing your views about how we can ensure children across the borough are safe and secure and using these to shape the way we deliver services? If so, we would love to hear from you.

This post is for 16- and 17-year-olds in Year 12 or equivalent in college or work, who live, work or are educated in Tower Hamlets. These roles will ensure the voice of the child and young person is captured throughout the work of the Tower Hamlets Safeguarding Children Partnership.

Tower Hamlets Safeguarding Children Partnership has been increasing engagement with children and young people and reviewing scrutiny processes. In this role, you will:

  • Provide a young person's point of view on key policies and priorities.
  • Undertake research with other young people and key partners to explore key themes in safeguarding.
  • Challenge the members of the Partnership, which includes the Council, the NHS, the Police and others.
  • Ensure that the voice of children is continuously at the centre of our work.

Please apply if you are:

  • A clear communicator who is confident in talking to a wide range of people.
  • Interested in engaging with other children and young people to gain their views on safeguarding and feedback to the partnership.
  • Passionate about making a change for children and young people.
  • Willing to learn new skills and be a part of a team working to support all children in the borough.

The role will be for an 18-month period and is up to 4 hours per week. This role can be flexible around any educational or other work commitments.
