The role

The IT Manager at Prime plays a critical leadership role in driving the organisation's technology operations and strategy, ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable IT systems that support the company's mission to deliver life changing healthcare solutions. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the CTO, the IT Manager oversees daily IT operations, leads a team of engineers, manages vendor relationships and budgets, and ensures compliance with cybersecurity and data protection standards. The role involves strategic planning, project leadership, including digital transformation and acquisitions, and providing hands-on support when needed. Ideal candidates will have strong experience in regulated industries, especially healthcare, and demonstrate excellent technical, leadership, and communication skills in a collaborative, values-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an IT Manager or similar leadership role, preferably within healthcare, life sciences, or medical communications
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based platforms (especially Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure)
  • Excellent understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR, ISO 27001)
  • Experience supporting hybrid/remote teams using collaboration tools such as Teams, Zoom, and project management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff
  • The ability to produce clear written documentation

As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding and responsible recruitment practices, we would like to make you aware that certain roles at Prime, including the current vacancy for IT Manager, will require a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the pre-employment process.

A Basic DBS check discloses any unspent criminal convictions or conditional cautions. These checks help us assess candidates' suitability for positions involving access to sensitive information, financial responsibility, or roles where a high degree of trust is required.

What we require from you:

  • A Basic DBS check will be required, should you be offered the role.
  • No checks will be carried out until after an offer has been made and accepted, and only with your explicit written consent.
  • You should be reassured that having a criminal record will not automatically exclude you from consideration. Any information disclosed will be assessed fairly and in context.

We will provide successful candidates with full instructions and support to complete the DBS process. All information will be handled in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
