Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to assist with care plans and deliver high-quality care to our clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a good command of English, and a willingness to drive when necessary.

Duties

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Supporting the implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Providing companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintaining accurate records of client progress and reporting any changes in condition to healthcare professionals.
  • Ensuring a safe and clean environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Driving to clients' homes or care facilities as required, ensuring timely arrival for scheduled visits.
  • Utilising IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes effectively.

Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a care home or home care setting.
  • Familiarity with creating and following care plans.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and their families.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for travel between locations.
