Job Description:
Key Accountabilities:
- Possess strong knowledge and experience in global energy markets, with the ability to identify and prioritize fundamental and quantitative analyses or models that generate valuable commercial insights for the trading organization.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, effectively conveying analytical findings to stakeholders and influencing commercial decisions.
- Develop and implement fundamental balance models, pricing models, and analytical tools to identify commercial opportunities across low-carbon, power, gas, and oil markets, utilizing advanced modelling techniques and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders (traders, analysts, and other teams) to ensure models and solutions deliver optimal performance and meaningful business insights.
- Streamline repetitive processes by developing standardized, reusable modules that enhance efficiency across multiple projects.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in a STEM or quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field).
- Strong understanding of European energy markets (gas, LNG, or power).
- Solid grasp of supply and demand fundamentals, and knowledge of how physical and financial instruments are traded.
- Proven track record of collaborating with traders and business stakeholders to develop commercially actionable models.
- Experience applying a range of modelling techniques, including regression analysis, time series forecasting, and machine learning.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, or similar) for developing models and analytical tools.
- Hands-on experience manipulating and analyzing large, complex datasets to extract meaningful insights.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: £500.00-£520.00 per day
