Role Overview

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will support the design, development, testing, and production of multifunction tap systems. You'll work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to contribute to mechanical design, prototyping, validation, and product improvements. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer eager to grow within a fast-paced product development environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for multifunction tap systems.
  • Use CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to create 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and documentation of design changes.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, electrical, and quality teams to ensure products meet performance, safety, and cost targets.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-ups, material selection, and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain design documentation, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and technical files.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree (BEng or MEng) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on mindset with an interest in prototyping and product testing.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Desirable:

  • Placement/internship experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.
  • Familiarity with plastic and metal components, injection moulding, or fluid systems.
  • Interest in sustainability, energy efficiency, and modern kitchen technologies.
